Apple Airpods May Soon Help You Monitor Body Temperature And Posture: Report

With the recently launched Apple Watch Series 7 offering a whole new series of health-related features like the new Mindfulness app, sleep respiratory rate tracking, and other overall wellness options, the tech-giant company is reportedly working on adding health features to Airpods as well.

According to a report published in The Wall Street Journal, Apple is currently exploring the potential of Airpods as a health device by adding a few health-focused features like body temperature and posture monitor along with better hearing aid. While the recently released AirPods Pro already offering a ‘conversation boost’ option to the wearer, the report didn’t specifically mention Apple working on any new hearing-aid feature.

Furthermore, the report also suggested that these health-focused features may take a while before rolling out in the market. “These functions aren’t expected by next year and might never be rolled out to consumers, or the timing could change,” the report stated.

Meanwhile, Apple has reportedly even teamed up with the University of California, Los Angeles, and pharmaceutical company Biogen to build an algorithm to detect depression and cognitive decline. While the study is still in its early stages, Apple is also trying to explore the possibility of including blood pressure/oxygen/sugar, temperature, and sleep quality sensor monitors in its next Apple Watch series.

While the tech giants have been taking huge leaps in the world of modern technology, a recent Bloomberg report suggested that the ongoing global chip shortage has affected Apple, due to which they may soon slash their production. And this has already resulted in a share-price drop, despite Apple’s better purchasing position in the market.

Apple, who recently unveiled its festive offer, earlier this month, has been offering free AirPods on every purchase of iPhone 12 or an iPhone 12 mini from Oct. 7, to its buyers, who purchase from Apple’s online stores exclusively.
