‘Game-Changing’ Full Fibre Internet Is Now Available Throughout the City

A new full fibre internet network has come to the city and is said to be a game-changer for businesses.

Faster Brighton launched last week and is a 37-kilometre network which will provide more than 9,000 businesses in Brighton and Hove, Portslade, Southwick and Shoreham with access to gigabit-capable connectivity and broadband services.

Full fibre provider ITS Technology Group has worked with Focus Group, an independent business technology company based in Shoreham, to “revolutionise digital workplaces across the city” through its “unique” Faster Brighton project.

The new network has been designed to meet the demands of today’s modern workplace by providing the connectivity which can take advantage of cloud technologies, which Focus Group hopes will “transform” communication, collaboration and productivity.

Brighton’s older copper networks are set to be shut down so Faster Brighton has been launched to make sure businesses can continue to use telecoms and broadband services.

Faster Brighton is part of ITS Technology Group’s faster Britain rollout, whereby the company is providing its full fibre network access for businesses in towns and cities across the UK.

The new network is said to offer “unrivalled” access to broadband speeds of up to ten gigabits per second which will “revolutionise the way businesses work in the region”.

More than 9,200 businesses in East Sussex now have access to the network.

The network has also been built with the environment in mind as existing ducts have been reused and digging and roadworks have been avoided to minimise disruption to residents.

Rhys Bailey, chief revenue officer at Focus Group, said: “Faster Brighton is a game-changer for the region’s business community. It will provide teams with the tools they need to succeed in today’s digital age.

“We believe that Faster Brighton will be a catalyst for growth and innovation, enabling businesses to work more efficiently, collaborate more effectively, and ultimately achieve greater success.

“Focus Group has a proven track record of delivering the highest level of full fibre business broadband and our collaboration with ITS on the Faster Brighton roll out is expected to ensure local businesses fly well ahead of the competition when it comes to future-ready communications.”
